Firmware release v9.0.05 for the External BMS V9

Modified on Tue, 6 Aug at 4:54 PM

On August 6th 2024 Lithionics engineering has released the updated firmware version v9.0.05 for the External BMS V9.

Change Log Details:

  • increased minimum Float charge current target above zero to prevent charger on/off cycling in some charger brands. This prevents annoying random fan noises when the charger is cycling on and off.
  • synchronized RVC alarm with SOC=10% adjustment to reduce customer confusion due to early alarm. NeverDie Reserve alarm has a 20 second advanced warning, which can be confusing if SOC has not sync’d to 10% when alarm begins. Now alarm and SOC sync happen together.
  • updated NMEA2000 CZone-Mastervolt inverter-charger control PGN per Navico recommendation. Helps with system integration when using Lithionics battery with CZone and Mastervolt equipment.
  • added new RV-C PGN DC_SOURCE_LOAD_CONTROL to stop inverter loads when battery is low. Allows BMS to trigger Inverter LBCO event when used with RV-C supporting inverters. Requires updated inverter firmware which supports this new PGN.
  • added AGSR relay function for solar on/off by setting $AGSRON=100 and $AGSROFF=0, such that AGSR relay is always on, except when charge_disable is active or BMS is powered off. Allows certain system designs to reuse AGSR relay to control solar charging.
  • added new PGN_PROP_BMS_STATUS_7 to provide pack level cell data such as min/max/avg to the RV-C network. New addition to BMS’s PGN library as requested by some customers for additional data logging via CAN loggers.
  • allow trickle charge stage when battery is deeply discharged, and modules count is low due to missing modules data. Helps in recovery of deeply discharged battery.
  • improved CAN source address filter to prevent rare conflicts with 3rd party devices. Resolves rare CAN issues in complex systems.
  • added a short beep when resetting Bluetooth security pin by holding the button for 30 seconds. Provides audible confirmation when Bluetooth pin is reset, so the button can be released.
