Just like any other modern smart device your Lithionics Battery BMS has its internal firmware, which is occasionally updated by Lithionics engineers to add new features and improve existing features. Lithionics does not enforce automatic firmware updates due to associated risks where customers may not be in the best position to update their battery. As such, it's up to the customer to update their battery firmware at their convenience, using the Lithionics Battery Monitor mobile app.
Firmware update is a sensitive process, so it should be avoided when you are camping and relying on battery power. It's best to wait until you have a good grid power connection and a strong Internet connection.
It is critical that Bluetooth connection stays strong and steady during update, which requires your phone to be as close as possible to the battery and that you disconnect any other Bluetooth devices from your phone, such as headphones or speakers, etc.
